Our Mission
To support the whole LGBTQ+ community and to advance LGBTQ+ rights for all members of our community
We aim to support the interests of the whole LGBTQ+ communty and stand up for our right to live as LGBTQ+ people without discrimination or disadvantage. We will ensure that the voices of LGBTQ+ people are heard in all public and political discussions affecting our lives
To highlight the discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ people
We will support and amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ people in the face of discrinimation and hate. In particular we will work to...add something about TRANS PEOPLE specifically?
To protect LGBTQ+ children
We work to protect children from harmful, unscientific ideologies that may lead them to believe either their personality or their body is in need of changing. Any LGBTQ+ child growing up has the right to be happy and confident about their sexual and/or gender identity and who they are and access support and healthcare that affirms this.
To create an inclusive space which serves the interests of our whole LGBTQ+ community
We will provide resources and support to all members of our community, elevate marginalised voices, campaign for all of our rights and…
Our Values
Respect
We engage with others respectfully. We discuss, propose, and oppose ideas; we do not attack individuals. We do not condone, endorse, or encourage any abusive or discriminatory behaviour towards any group or individual.
Solidarity
We work collaboratively, standing together, sharing information, and building connections between individuals and organisations across the LGBTQ+ community, strengthening our community and resilience, to achieve positive outcomes for all LGBTQ+ people. We want to elevate as many LGBTQ+ voices and experiences as we can. We are not perfect. We will endeavour to be better, together. We recognise that we bring our own experiences into spaces, and this is reflective of the world and structures we live in. To keep spaces brave our work is done through an intersectional lens and with humility.
Evidence and LGBTQ+ voices
LGBTQ+ people’s experiences matter. Facts also matter. Our approach is to consider both the evidence and the experiences of LGBTQ+ people to help make informed decisions and communicate in a factual and honest way. Legislation, policy, guidance and decisions that affect LGBTQ+ people must be based on evidence and this must include the experience and voices of LGBTQ+ people.
Non-partisan
We are non-party political. We engage with organisations and publications with diverse political views. However, we do not, and will not, forge links with, or accept funding from, any organisation that does not share our values or whose aims we consider to be fundamentally hostile to the rights of all LGBTQ+ people.
We are joyful. We are not virtuous
Our mission is to fight for all LGBTQ+ people and amplify their voices. We acknowledge we do not all start from the same place of knowledge and understanding, nor all share exactly the same views, but are here to achieve the same thing. We have a zero tolerance policy for virtue signaling.
Who are we?
We are a passionate collective of LGBTQ+ volunteers.
Our aim is to promote diversity and inclusivity throughout the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. As members of the LGBTQ+ community we believe in supporting the whole community, that we have strength in unity. The richness of diversity in our community is something to celebrate. No one should be left behind.
